A NEW ERA FOR THE uMEPHI PROJECT

Recently we said good-bye to our outgoing Director, Past Eben Muller. At the luncheon held in his honour, Helena Jackson, new Director as from 01 June 2010, described this phenomenal man as follows:

"Six years ago, for your 60th birthday, I made you a collage in which I tried to capture the person Eben Müller:  Husband, Father, Friend, Pastor, Missionary, Birdwatcher, Animal Lover, Boss, Student, Adventurer, Business man, Director etc.  For many people this would be enough for a lifetime – but now you’ve added another few: Developer, Bird ringer, and who knows what other opportunities will come around.

Thank you for not being stingy & tight-fisted when you had to share knowledge and transfer skills – you taught me well. Thank you also for believing in me as your successor.

May you be blessed until the day you do not need a blessing any more!”

Pastor Nico Botha also shared his life-experiences he had with pastor Müller during their ministry-long friendship, Katinka from ABBA Adoptions talked about pastor Müller’s special relationship with the ABBA-personnel over the years, Marie van Vuuren thanked pastor Müller on behalf of the Old Age Homes and pastor Sam Tsabalala prayed God’s blessing upon pastor Müller’s season of retirement. A special message from Dr Isak Burger was also read to past Muller is his absence.

Pastor Müller will still be part of the department in the capacity of fund generation and management. Thus, we have the wonderful opportunity to still have him around! But, as HELENA said:

“Luckily we do not have to cry today – we are not losing you. Thank you for being prepared to take a few more steps with us. Aftree – nee,  nog ‘n tree!  Enjoy the 50% of your working time that you will be able to spend as you now whish.  You deserve the breather – take note only a breather!”.

Pastor Eben receives his farewell gift from new director, Helena Jackson. Joining them is past Muller's dear wife, (tannie) Elsa. Pastor Sam Tshabalala prays God's blessing upon pastor Eben's season of retirement. Pastor Eben Muller giving his last official speech as Director.
